Talented as a thespian, she's been active in the professional world over the last 27 years. In 1990, she made her debut on stage in Off-Broadway production of The Big Funk written by John Patrick Shanley. The following year, she was offered her first television role, The Perfect Tribute. In 1992, when she was a supporting role in the movie the film Basic Instinct Her career began to take off. Then, in The Firm, she played the lead female role for the very first time. She was on the screen alongside Tom Cruise and Gene Hackman. Over the course of the 1990s, Gwyneth was a co-star together with Hugh Grant on Mickey Blue Eyes as well as Julie Andrews for Relative Values. Most recently, she played the role of the character of Dr. Alex Blake in Criminal Minds.
