LeonaLeona Louise Lewis (born on April 3, 1985) is a British artist, singer also known as actress, and activist. She was born and raised in the London Borough Of Islington she went to the BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology, Croydon. Lewis was an international star after winning The Third X Factor's third show in 2006. The singer also signed the PS1 Million recording contract from Syco Music. The winning single, which was an original cover song by Kelly Clarkson's "A Moment like This" was a top-charting number one for 4 weeks on the UK Singles Chart and broke records in the world by achieving the milestone of 50,000 downloads in just thirty minutes. In February 2007, Lewis agreed to sign a five-album deal with the United States with Clive Davis's record label, J Records. The success continued for Lewis when she debuted her first album Spirit (2007). It is certified platinum within the UK, becoming the fourth-best-selling album of the 2000s. Spirit is, as per Official Charts Company is the greatest-selling debut album by a female artist. The lead track "Bleeding Love", which spent seven weeks on the top of the UK charts, also became the top-selling single of the year 2007. The track was also among the top-selling in 2008, as well. Lewis won the Billboard Award for the Best New Artist. In 2009, she released her sophomore studio album, Echo and also composed the song that served as the soundtrack, "I See You" in the movie Avatar. Lewis's track "Collide" has been an collaboration with Swedish DJ Avicii and she released Hurt: the EP, her debut extended performance. Glassheart (2012) was her third studio album. She took inspiration from dubstep and electronic music. During her Glassheart Tour in 2013, she started recording music to her Christmas debut album. Following that, Christmas with Love was released, and included the single that was released as the album's lead track "One more night" it reached the top three spot on the charts in the UK. Through this chart entry, Lewis made history as the only British woman soloist to make it into the top five , with eight songs, beating Olivia Newton-John's record set by seven.
